Cominciamo dalla protagonista femminile: Emma Stone, classe 1988, sarà Gwen Stacy! L’annuncio ha decisamente spiazzato i molti che si aspettavano ancora una volta di vedere sul Grande Schermo il personaggio di Mary Jane Watson. La scelta degli Studios è invece ricaduta a sorpresa sul primo e indimenticato amore di Peter Parker, Gwen Stacy, anche se la totale assenza di MJ nel film non è stata ancora data per confermata. Frattanto anche il primo villain del nuovo reboot trova finalmente il suo volto: si tratta di Rhys Ifans, cui sarà affidato il ruolo di Lizard/Dr. Curt Connors. Se confermato ufficialmente, questo rumour piuttosto affidabile escluderebbe dai giochi Dylan Baker, interprete di Connors in due delle tre pellicole che costituiscono la trilogia ragnesca di Sam Raimi.

Chiudiamo con una rivelazione da MovieHole, secondo la quale Sony Pictures starebbe cercando due giovanissimi attori per interpretare Peter Parker e Billy Connors (il figlio del Dr. Connors) da bambini. A questo punto è lecito pensare a un rapporto fra i due che verrà esplorato attraverso alcune scene di prologo o dei flashback. La pellicola debutterà in 3D il 3 luglio del 2012.
