Diretto da Raja Gosnell, regista di Beverly Hills Chihuahua, e Scooby-Doo 1 e 2, Puffi 3D vedrà sul set Neil Patrick Harris, Sofía Vergara, Hank Azaria, nei panni di Gargamella, e Jayma Mays. Gli spettatori di tutto il mondo saranno così catapultati nel divertente mondo dei puffi, per il loro primo viaggio in 3D sul grande schermo nella nuova commedia per famiglie prodotta da Columbia Pictures e Sony Pictures Animation con la nuova tecnologia ibrida live action. Quando lo stregone cattivo Gargamella insegue i piccoli puffi blu fuori dal loro villaggio, dal loro mondo magico cadono nel nostro, trovandosi nel bel mezzo di Central Park a New York. I Puffi dovranno trovare il modo di ritornare al loro villaggio prima che Gargamella li catturi.
