Runaways è una serie a fumetti pubblicata dalla Marvel Comics, creata da Brian K. Vaughan (testi) e Adrian Alphona (disegni) e attualmente scritta da Kathryn Immonen e disegnata da Sara Pichelli. La prima serie, pubblicata per la linea editoriale Tsunami è durata diciotto numeri, dal aprile 2003 al settembre 2004) ed ha chiuso in seguito alle basse vendite. Viste però le critiche positive e le buone vendite delle ristampe in volumi, la Marvel ha deciso di rilanciare la serie, azzerando la numerazione della testata e mantenendo il team creativo originale, che ha prodotto ventiquattro nuovi numeri dall'aprile 2005 al dicembre 2007, per essere poi sostituito da Joss Whedon e Michael Ryan, che hanno firmato un solo arco narrativo di sei episodi. La serie è stata quindi nuovamente rilanciata con un terzo volume firmato da Terry Moore e Humberto Ramos, che hanno prodotto due archi narrativi per essere poi sostituiti da Kathryn Immonen e Sara Pichelli. Ogni sei episodi viene ristampata nel formato denominato Marvel Digest, un formatto tascabile che imita quello dei manga. Inoltre l'intera prima serie è stata stampata in un formato cartonato. Runaways è stato inizialmente lanciato, nel 2003, sotto la sfortunata linea editoriale Tsunami. La prima ristampa in Digest è stata sotto l'etichetta Marvel Age, e in seguito i primi episodi della prima serie sono andati sotto Marvel Next. I successivi albi sono usciti per la divisione editoriale Marvel Heroes, una delle principali dell'editore newyorchese. In Italia la serie viene proposta nella collana 100% Marvel, in volumi da sei o più storie, dalla Panini Comics. Runaways racconta la storia di sei adolescenti che un giorno, in una delle tante assemblee dei genitori, scoprono che questi ultimi sono dei super criminali vedendoli uccidere una ragazza innocente durante una sorta di rito satanico.Cinque dei sei ragazzi scappano così di casa e decidono di opporsi all'impero criminale della loro famiglia andando a cercare prove sulla colpevolezza sui loro genitori, e sarà andando di casa in casa che riceveranno le armi per combattere i loro genitori: trovando a casa di Gertrude Yorkes un velociraptor comissionato dai suoi genitori che obbedisce ai suoi comandi,scoprendo tramite un foglio che Karolina Dead e in realta un'aliena fatta di luce mentre in casa Stein, Chase Stein troverà dei guanti in grado di produrre fuoco e degli occhiali a raggi x. Nello stesso posto Nico Minorou si impossesserà dell'asta magica della madre. Alla fine dei due volumi iniziali i ragazzi riusciranno a sconfiggere i loro "vecchi". Il gruppo originale era composto da sei membri: Alex Wilder; Nico Minorou; Chase Stein; Karolina Dean; Gertrude Yorkes; Molly Hayes; Vecchi Merletti: è un velociraptor . A cui si aggiungono successivamente:  Victor Mancha; Xavin; Klara Prast. Un film tratto dal fumetto è previsto per il 2011,dopo la release cinematografica de I Vendicatori. Il film è stato annunciato dai Marvel Studios in maggio 2008, stesso mese in cui Brian K. Vaughan, che è anche autore del fumetto, ha iniziato a scrivere la sceneggiatura, che dovrebbe terminare ai primi del 2009.

To which are added later: Victor Mancha; Xavin; Klara Prast. A film based on the comic is planned for 2011, after the cinematic release of The Avengers. The film was announced by Marvel Studios in May 2008, the same month that Brian K. Vaughan, who is also the author of the comic, he began writing the script, which should end in early 2009.
