In occasione della ristampa ad opera della Coniglio editore,oggi parliamo di un grande fumetto,CYBERSIX. Verso gli inizi degli anni '90 l'Eura editoriale varò un progetto innovativo basato sulla penna di Carlos Trillo e sul disegno di Meglia. Il fumetto inizialmente uscì a puntate sui settimanali del gruppo (i famosi Skorpio e LancioStory) per poi ottenere un albo mensile tutto suo grazie al successo ottenuto. Nonostante il buon numero di vendite a causa di contrasti economici tra gli autori e la casa editrice, Cybersix venne soppresso con un numero finale non-finale. Cyb. Così la chiamano gli amici... una ragazza che vi farà innamorare, con gli occhi e con il cuore. Cybersix è un fumetto dark , dai toni oscuri e pessimisti, decisamente unico ma ricco di citazioni (Pessoa , Wilde , strepitosa la puntata scandita dai "Credo" di Ballard ), di cui lo sceneggiatore fa largo e sapiente uso. Grazie anche agli originali e stilisticamente ricercati, stupendi disegni di Carlos Meglia , il fumetto riesce realisticamente a rappresentare la realtà umana e contemporaneamente ad assumere, a volte, toni epici. E' ambientato a Meridiana , città buia e degradata dove Cybersix, la "Fantastica creatura della notte", si aggira cercando di sfuggire alle creature di Von Reichter, un ex criminale nazista che l'ha creata facendola nascere da una provetta insieme ad altri 4999 fratelli (della "la serie Cyber", lei è la numero 6), da lui uccisi perché non adatti all'obbedienza che il vecchio megalomane pretendeva. Cybersix (ora la "rinnegata") si salva e si rifugia a Meridiana, dove Von Reichter che vive nella foresta Amazzonica, opera tramite il suo figlio-clone Joseph: eternamente bambino, eternamente arrapato. A volte anche grottesco, così come tutte le altre serie create da suo "padre": i "Techno", i "Type" e gli stupidissimi "Idea Fissa" (la loro unica idea è quella di uccidere la "rinnegata"). Cybersix durante il giorno si nasconde sotto gli abiti di Adrian Seidelman , timido professore di letteratura. Di notte, vestita di Latex nero con tanto di mantello, si muove sui tetti degli alti edifici di Meridiana, popolati da spaventosi Gargoyles. Infatti per sopravvivere ha bisogno, come tutte le creature di Von Reichter, di una "sostanza" e per procurarsela non ha altro modo che succhiarla dal collo dei suoi nemici. E' tanto evidente il paragone con il vampiro quanto quello, messo in evidenza dagli autori, con una tossica. La trama è tormentata e avvincente, non è mai banale, a volte commuove profondamente e spessissimo spinge il lettore a riflettere, soprattutto perché manca la classica distinzione tra Bene e Male : ci sono amici e nemici, non ci sono buoni o cattivi. Gli amici di Cyb sono Maura , una prostituta tossicodipendente, Dostoievski , il poliziotto più violento e bastardo di Meridiana, Julian e Nacho , due piccoli vagabondi, e Data Sette : pantera con il cervello di un altro bambino della "serie Cyber" (il Cyber numero 7). L'unico caratterizzato quasi sempre negativamente è Von Reichter, che pretende assoluta obbedienza e sottomissione dalle sue creature e sulle quali si arroga il diritto di vita e di morte, nel tentativo di creare una "razza perfetta". Uno dei personaggi, invece, che sembrano essere dalla parte della "giustizia" è (... stranamente!) un giornalista: Lucas Amato , un ragazzone biondo di cui Cybersix s'innamorerà ricambiata e, vinte finalmente le sue paure di "donna artificiale", avrà un figlio da lui. Questo Lucas però non lo saprà mai perché, prima ancora che Cyb possa dirglielo viene rapito, e quando riuscirà a fuggire perde la memoria. Nel frattempo il bimbo, Gengis , viene rapito appena nato da Von Reichter (... il "nonno"?!?!), sottoposto ad un accrescimento veloce e costretto ad odiare la propria madre.

Il fumetto è stato un successo internazionale, infatti ,nel 1995 venne girato in Argentina un film, con la bella Carolina Pelleritti nel ruolo della protagonista e verso il 2000 venne realizzata una serie a cartoni animati basata sul personaggio di Cybersix. Per esigenze commerciali buona parte della sceneggiatura venne ripulita dai tratti violenti ed erotici che caratterizzavano il personaggio. Scompaiono il sangue, gli omicidi, le allusioni sessuali e vampiriche della protagonista (la sostanza non viene più succhiata alle vittime). Nonostante la grafica fosse di buona qualità, il progetto naufragò dopo la prima serie (13 episodi) lasciando amareggiati i numerosi fans. È indiscutibile che questa versione abbia reso Cybersix molto popolare (basta fare un giro per i fansites presenti nella rete), ma probabilmente il personaggio e la storia ne escono in parte snaturalizzati. Sulla scia del successo del cartone animato, Cyb è stata pubblicata perfino in Giappone in stile manga!

Senza dubbio, le eroine “artificiali”, ALITA di Yukito Kischiro, e la Max di Dark Angel, serie –tv ideata da James Cameron con Jessica Alba, devono molto alle atmosfere e alle storie racconta tante dai due argentini.Ora non ci resta che godere di questa pregevole ristampa e sperare che dal cassetto di Trillo esca finalmente il degno epilogo di questa saga!E magari sia disegnata dal mai troppo rimpianto Meglia.

And maybe it is never too drawn regret from the best.
