Will Zack Snyder, director of hits like "300" and "Watchmen" to direct the upcoming film "Superman." The director won the big competition like Guillermo del Toro, Robert Zemeckis and Darren Aronofsky. A choice that suggests the high profile of the project put in the yard. The film has no news yet but Christopher Nolan, who will produce and read the script, called it "incredibly exciting." One of the few certainties that you might have in this new incarnation of the man of steel is that it's very personal and revisited. The names of Nolan and Snyder are a guarantee to that effect. Just think of how Nolan has rebuilt the character of Batman in "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight." While Snyder seems to have specialized in films based on comic books where the characters are sketched with great psychological depth, from "300" to "Watchmen." Snyder will have to accept this assignment he had to postpone some projects in the pipeline, such as "Xerses", the spin-off of "300", and "Sucker Punch", an action movie with great special effects. Obviously the next step now is to find the actor who can embody Clark Kent / Superman offering a new perspective to a character who in the past has been interpreted by the late Christopher Reeve and, to a much less memorable, with Brandon Routh, new Dylan Dog. On that Nolan seems to still have vague ideas ... "To be honest - told MTV - I have not even thought of yet."
